Congratulations to Dr. Colton Ross and UG student Mr. Michael Burkhart in collaboration with Dr. Li-Wei Liu at National Taiwan University on the recent publication in Applied Mathematical Modeling! Their paper, “State-space formulations to understand the nonlinear mechanical behavior of the tricuspid valve chordae tendineae,” introduces a novel state-space modeling framework to better characterize chordae tendineae biomechanics under physiologically relevant loading. This work represents an exciting advance in modeling heart valve mechanics, aligning closely with our lab’s mission to develop computational and experimental tools for cardiovascular biomechanics.
